Sandcasting is a method used for jewellery making that is prized for its ability to create unique, textured designs with an organic feel, making each piece of jewelry one-of-a-kind. It’s a wonderful blend of artistry and tradition.
During this 4 hour workshop, I will guide you through the process of creating a sandcast ring using a ring mold. You will be introduced to the casting method, in addition to being taught various polishing and finishing techniques. This workshop is specifically designed for beginners with no previous experience, as well as more advanced jewellers who are interested in growing their skill set. You will go home with a unique piece of jewellery in sterling silver.
The materials covered in the workshop include 15g of sterling silver and there will be the option of purchasing sapphires if you wish to try a cast in place method of working. If you need more than 15g of silver, there will be an option to purchase more on the day (cash, bank transfer and card options will be accepted).
The classes are limited to 4 students to ensure a flexible and tailored experience. Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Please note that we are working with clay which can get a little messy.
Please contact me if you have any further questions.
